A man and woman were shot and seriously wounded while picking up food in the drive-thru lane of a Wendy’s on the South Side early Monday, according to Chicago police.
The man, 60, and the woman, 27, were in a black Saturn in the 200 block of West Garfield Boulevard when a silver SUV pulled up around 3:15 a.m., police said. Two people got out of the SUV, walked up to the Saturn and opened fire.
The man suffered several gunshot wounds and was taken in critical condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center. The woman was hit in the abdomen and legs and taken to the same hospital in serious condition.
No one was in custody.
