Mike Torelli of Rose Tree Woods and Addyson Despeaux from Briarcliffe capped their summer swimming season in record-setting fashion Tuesday night.

Both broke a pair of pool records at the Elite Meet at Primos-Secane Swim Club.

Torelli, who will be a freshman at Marple Newtown, broke the mark in the 14-under 50-meter butterfly with a time of 27.56 and the 50 freestyle in 25.26. He represented the Suburban Swim League.

“I was really happy with how I performed tonight,” Torelli said. “I didn’t expect to beat the butterfly record by three seconds. I’ve never swam the fly so fast in my life. In the freestyle I was able to tap everybody out and place first.”

Torelli said his fly performance started on the block.

“I was just trying to get in the correct state of mind,” he said. “I was just trying to get everything right, stay positive and I was able to do it.”

Despeaux, who will be a freshman at Springfield, set the 14U marks in the 100 individual medley (1:06.0) and the 50 backstroke (30.48). She teamed with Viola Wilent, Rori Kennedy and Ivie Enakhimion to lead the Delco League to victory in the medley relay (2:05.30). Despeaux swam the backstroke on that relay.

“It feels really good,” Despeaux said. “It makes me feel like I’m on top of the world. And it makes me feel that I can do it without feeling nervous.”

The Delco Swim League edged the Suburban Swim League for the overall title, 595-539. The Intra-County was third with 248 points. The boys team scores were Delco 287, Suburban 285, Intra-County 121. In the girls team scoring it was Delco 308, Suburban 254 and Intra-County 127.

Briana Klock also was a quadruple winner for the Delco League. She was on the open free relay, the 12U medley relay and also won the 12U butterfly and freestyle. Ivie Enakimion took home three gold medals for the Delco League. She was on the winning open freestyle relay and also took first in the 14U freestyle and medley relay team.

Kelsey Bianco won two individual events and was part of two winning relay teams for the Delco League. She took first in the 10U butterfly and freestyle, and was on the winning open freestyle and 10U medley relay teams. Peter Acquarola was on two Delco League winning relays. He took part in the open freestyle relay and the 8U medley relay. Lucas Lin also participated on two winning relays for the Delco League. He was on the open relay and the 10U medley relay. Maeve Simpson won three events for the Suburban Swim League in the 8U fly, back and medley relay.

Brady Turner was a triple winner for Delco. He took first in the 12U free and IM and was on the open relay team. Braydan Saunders won the 10U butterfly, breaststroke and was on the winning medley relay team for Delco. Jannah Rhyshek won the 12U IM and backstroke and led off the winning medley relay team in that age group. Jacob Muntz of the Delco League touched the wall first in the 14U IM and also was on the winning medley relay squad.

Other double winners for the Delco League were Brody Zimmerman (8U fly, medley relay), Rori Kennedy (14U fly, medley relay), Shane Eckler (18U fly, medley relay), Beatrix Wilent (10U back, medley relay),  Mary Kubiak (18U back, medley relay), Jake Kennedy (18U back, medley relay), Reese Jones (8U breaststroke, medley relay), Kelly Faith (8U free, open free relay), Ben Kutufaris (18U free, medley relay) and Avery Barber (18U IM, medley relay).

Double winners for the Suburban League were: Ryan Mondoro (12U fly and medley relay), Hank Pauxtis (10U back, free), Campbell Knecht (8U breaststroke, medley relay) and Katya Eruslanova (18U breaststroke, freestyle).

Diving

It was quite the night for divers from Martins Dam, Rose Tree Woods and Ply-Mar swim clubs at the All-County Diving Meet at Rose Tree Woods Monday.

Brendan Hodgens won the senior boys (18-under) title while Maddie Evers was first in the junior girls (13-14) for Martins Dam. Ethan D’Angelo was first in the junior boys division (13-14) and Gianna McGee won the intermediate girls (11-12) for Rose Tree Woods. Austin Alderfer and Mac Orehowski of Ply-Mar captured the intermediate boys (11-12) and novice boys (10-under) championships, respectively.

Hodgens easily won the boys senior division crown with 217.65 points. Ava Keller of Ridley Township captured the senior girls title (190.70). D’Angelo racked up 151.75 points. Evers piled up 141.45 points in the junior girls division. Alderfer finished with 117.95 points on four dives in the boys intermediate division. Gianna McGee posted a score of 100.55 to win the intermediate girls. Mac Orehowski of Ply-Mar was the novice boys winner (10-under) with 74.40 points. Bridget Ward from St. Albans captured the novice girls title (72.15).
