The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include free admission and free parking.

Jill Raycroft, CEO of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce, informed Belleville city council that preparations are under way with partner Rotary Club of Belleville to make the event an enjoyable day out for the entire family.

As the contracted agency to put on the event, Raycroft noted the chamber has asked the city for various forms of assistance to host the one-day civic celebration.

“As you know, it is our goal to continue to offer top quality free family festivals for those in the entire Quinte area, while also attracting visitors from outside our Region. 2022 has seen most events return with record attendance including our Winter and Spring Family Fun Fests, Canada Day and Waterfront & Multicultural Festivals,” Raycroft said.

City council approved the request to “pay all municipal building permit, signage and licensing fees for the event; and … to designate, by resolution, an event to be a ‘Civic Celebration’ for the purpose of licensing hawkers, peddlers, street vendors.”

“We are excited to be joined by the Rotary Club of Belleville for an enhanced “Touch a Truck” component … along with the Side Hustle vendors,” Raycroft noted.

The Touch a Truck event will feature a wide variety of city vehicles and visitors will be encouraged to get up close and personal with the trucks under the supervision of city employees.

A raft of free attractions await visitors, she said, including fall-themed Arts & Crafts & fun giveaways,  Kindness Rock Painting, Corn-Husk-Doll Making Workshops with Laura Maracle, Building Kits for Kids, Face Art & Balloons.

Accompanying Side Hustle Vendor Marketplace will feature homemade arts, crafts, clothing and accessories while food will be provided by the Pop Ups On The Bay and three additional visiting food vendors,

Raycroft said a youth organization will be assisting with parking for visitors on festival day.
