STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Four student-athletes from Tarleton Volleyball were honored on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Dec. 17, as announced by the CSC.

Megan Hodges, Emma Burke, Emma Halcomb, and Allison Bryant were acknowledged on Tuesday for their outstanding achievements both on and off the court.

To be awarded these honors, student-athletes are required to participate in 90 percent of contests while maintaining a minimum 3.50 grade point average. The committee bestows honors based on student-athletes’ performance both on and off the court, as well as their involvement in extracurricular activities.

Hodges is pursuing a degree in biomedical science from Celina, Texas. The setter concluded her junior year at Tarleton Volleyball with 722 assists and an average of 6.39 assists per set, placing her among the top of the conference rankings in both categories. Hodges also became the eighth player in the program’s history to achieve 2,000 career assists.

Burke, a nursing student from Godley, Texas, completed her junior season at Tarleton this fall. Throughout the season, the middle blocker tallied 206 kills with a .280 attack percentage and 118 blocks. She ranked in the top ten in the WAC for both total blocks and attack percentage.

Halcomb is a graduate student majoring in marketing, aiming to earn her second degree at Tarleton State University. The native of Highland Village, Texas recorded a career-high of 461 digs and an average of 4.15 digs per set. She received two WAC Libero of the Week awards and was ranked second in total digs within the conference.

Bryant, a business student from Kelseyville, California, concluded her senior season at Tarleton State this fall. She established the program’s D1 era record for the most kills in a single season with 406 and also recorded 242 digs alongside her remarkable kill total. Bryant was recognized as WAC Player of the Week during the fifth week of the season and was among the top ten in the conference for total kills and points.

After the conclusion of the Fall 2024 season, Tarleton State Volleyball will initiate a new chapter under first-year Head Coach Jazmyne Johnson.
