LOWELL, Mass. – Guided by a duo of performances exceeding 20 points, UMass Lowell separated in the second half to conquer the Boston University men’s basketball squad, 83-71, on Saturday afternoon at the Costello Athletic Center.

With their fifth consecutive victory, the River Hawks (10-4) prolonged their current home winning streak to 14 matches, as the Terriers fell to 5-7 for the season. BU was even at halftime for the first occasion this year, 27-27, but UML shot more than 70 percent in the second half with five three-pointers to forge ahead.

Graduate student Miles Brewster recorded a season-high 19 points, while senior Malcolm Chimezie and sophomore Kyrone Alexander each contributed 12 points. BU shot 62.1 percent in the second half but struggled to keep up with the River Hawks.

Martin Somerville went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc, achieving a game-high 22 points, while Max Brooks contributed 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Additionally, both Yuri Covington (14) and Cam Morris III (10) finished in double digits.
