Denver Airport Encounters Prolonged Security Lines as Holiday Travelers Flood In

DENVER — Denver International Airport experienced another hectic day on Sunday, as passengers traveled to their holiday getaways.

Check-in, luggage drop-off, and security queues snaked through the airport, although some residents of Denver remarked that they have encountered worse situations.

“This is more manageable than I anticipated,” stated traveler Tricia Morrell.

South Security wait times fluctuated throughout the morning, indicating a wait of 16 minutes at one point, and 27 minutes at another.

Denver7’s Allie Jennerjahn followed an individual through the line to time the actual duration, and it took him 17 minutes.

Some passengers expressed that they don’t wish to take any chances, thus whatever wait time they observe, they anticipate it to take even longer.

“We understand that DIA is infamous for these lengthy security queues, sometimes 30-40 minute waits, so we always have to factor in extra time when we’re departing from Denver,” traveler Brady Ruth mentioned.

Airport authorities are reminding travelers to arrive two hours prior to their scheduled departure time, and as ever, to carry their patience.
