Introducing Baby Henry: A Whimsical Celebration Captured by Alyssa Lund Photography in Vibrant Minneapolis!

As a photographer specializing in newborns, meeting and capturing images of infants and their families during their initial stage of life is an incredibly enchanting experience. It consistently feels like such a privilege to step into and document this pivotal period of existence. Occasionally, however, the enchantment of these instances appears particularly tangible. Earlier this autumn, my nibling Henry was welcomed into the world, and my sibling Kaelie along with their partner Dom invited me to be their photographer for both maternity and newborn sessions. Earlier this month, I featured their maternity photos on my blog, and I’m absolutely thrilled to present some of their newborn images today!

While planning their newborn photography session, Kaelie, Dom, and I discussed their desire for the portraits to embody simplicity, warmth, joy, and authenticity. They expressed a preference for having their session at home, capturing the lovely, everyday moments of life with a new child.

On the day of their newborn session, I arrived at Kaelie and Dom’s residence, and we spent some moments discussing their aspirations for the photoshoot. As the proud aunt, I was also able to steal some hugs and snuggles with the baby, which made my heart swell with joy.

We began by capturing photographs in Henry’s nursery. Set against the soft yellow walls, vibrant quilts, and the wonder reflected in his parents’ expressions as they held him close, baby Henry appeared serene and relaxed.

Next, I snapped pictures of Kaelie and Dom cradling Henry. Two of my treasured moments included when Kaelie lifted Henry to the mirror for him to see “mirror Henry” and when Dom lay on the bed with Henry by his side. At one point, Kaelie joined Dom on the bed, creating a little nest around Henry. Their faces radiated the sweetest expressions—overflowing with love and admiration for their infant, and for one another. I also captured candid images of them sitting on the bed, laughing and singing to Henry. These images feel vibrantly alive and rich with tenderness.
