WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men’s swimming and diving senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC swimmer Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Park) has been recognized as the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career.

McQueary achieves this weekly accolade after clinching one victory and finishing as the runner-up in another event during BW’s non-conference dual meet against Randolph-Macon (Va.) College at the Arlington Park Aquatic Complex in Sarasota, Florida as part of the Yellow Jackets winter training trip.

He secured first place in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 54.60 and took second in the 50-yard butterfly with a result of 24.28. McQueary was also part of the second place 200-yard medley relay team, swimming the third leg and contributing to their time of 1:41.52.

Throughout this season, he has claimed victory in 11 individual races, finished as runner-up in one race, and placed third in another. McQueary has also participated on three winning relay teams and two runner-up relay teams.

In terms of his career, McQueary has been the two-time defending OAC Champion in the 200-yard butterfly and has achieved All-OAC honors three times. He holds the school’s record for the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly. McQueary is also a member of the relay teams that hold the school records in the 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle, and 800-yard freestyle.

Outside of swimming, he is a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District awardee, an Academic All-OAC selection, a Dean’s List student, a Jacket Scholar, and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

BW will remain inactive for the holiday period. The Yellow Jackets will return to competitive action on Saturday, January 11, when they host a non-conference and Seniors’ Day dual meet against Oberlin College in the BW Natatorium at 1 p.m.
