Beyoncé Unleashes Her Inner Cowgirl with Banjo in ‘Cowboy Carter Christmas’ Sneak Peek!

Beyoncé is honing her banjo-playing abilities for her inaugural Cowboy Carter live shows during the halftime spectacle of Netflix’s first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday. The artist unveiled a teaser on Tuesday, sharing “great joy and affection on this Cowboy Christmas Eve.”

The brief footage shows Beyoncé perched on a chair in the center of a football field strumming a white banjo. At one moment, the video seems to freeze just as it zooms in on Beyoncé’s expression — but just before viewers might want to refresh the clip, the artist emits a small laugh, and the video continues, seemingly teasing Netflix’s rocky past with live streaming events. (The streaming powerhouse was recently faced with a civil lawsuit after fans alleged it was unprepared for the 60 million viewers who tuned in for the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson clash, leading to delays and lockouts in the live broadcast.)

“I’m sending you great joy and affection on this Cowboy Christmas Eve,” Beyoncé expressed. “I’ll see y’all tomorrow, in my city HTX.”

A Cowboy Carter Christmas is scheduled to air live on Netflix on December 25. The presentation will commence during the Houston Texans face-off against the Baltimore Ravens, set for 4:30 p.m. EST at NRG Stadium in Houston. This will represent the singer’s first live showcase of her unique country album, which contains tracks like “Spaghettii,” “II Most Wanted,” and “Levii’s Jeans.”

“With Netflix and Beyoncé, the NFL launches what is anticipated to become a new festive custom, as Netflix has also divulged NFL games for 2025 and 2026,” Netflix announced in November. “Directed by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment, this year’s halftime performance will be the first live presentation of songs from her boundary-pushing and record-setting album Cowboy Carter.”
