Job Summary: The Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP-R) is expected to engage with patients and their families in a caring, empathetic, and respectful manner, delivering care with utmost consideration for their mental, spiritual, and physical health. The RCP-R is accountable for providing both basic and advanced respiratory care services to diverse patient populations. The RCP-R conducts patient evaluations, formulates Respiratory Care Plans, and subsequently enacts and assesses the efficacy of the Respiratory Care Plan. The RCP-R is required to administer respiratory care services to patients across all departments of the hospital and to execute the outlined responsibilities with minimal supervision and independent judgment skills.
Minimum Requirements: Must be licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care. BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications are mandatory (or to be obtained within six months of employment). Prior clinical experience is necessary. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills essential to deliver care suited to the age of the patients served. The individual must exhibit an understanding of the principles of growth and development across the life span and possess the capacity to assess data reflecting the patient’s status, interpreting the necessary information to identify each patient’s specific needs based on age, ensuring the needed care as outlined in the department’s policies and procedures.
