Both units are robustly constructed and designed to endure over time, which is to be expected. If superior performance is your goal, then the Mac is the sole choice. Even with the highest-tier iPad, it will inevitably be constrained by thermal limitations in such a compact form. The MacBook features a larger area for heat dissipation and includes fans to enhance that process. Consequently, this leads to more dependable performance at maximum capacity where devices may become sluggish. A prime instance is during batch exporting files, generating thumbnails, or executing any rendering tasks.

The Mac boasts an exceptional keyboard and trackpad. There’s practically nothing I would enhance about it. Additionally, it offers an SD card slot, HDMI port, headphone jack, charging port, and three Thunderbolt USB-C ports.

Conversely, the iPad provides very little, limited to a single (slower) Thunderbolt USB-C port. To augment functionality, you would require an adapter. Naturally, to experience the full potential, you would also need to acquire the Magic Keyboard along with an Apple Pencil. Although most applications are optimized for touch, many still benefit from the inclusion of a keyboard and trackpad. I briefly experimented with third-party alternatives and found them lacking, thus I can only recommend the authentic Magic Keyboard.
