Overview
Comprehensive Travel Agency managing adept and economical domestic and international travel demands for the NYPA organization, including air/ground transportation, accommodation, and/or vehicle rental arrangements for individuals or groups of travelers. Tasked with organizing offsite gatherings/retreats for teams in alignment with Travel and Accounting protocols and procedures. #LI-VB1
Key Duties
- Facilitate travel arrangements (air, train, hotel, car rentals) via the Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) for authorized travel requests in a cost-efficient, prompt manner adhering to Corporate Travel and Accounting regulations; provide itineraries and finalized reservation details to employees.
- Evaluate unforeseen travel challenges and/or problems and determine solutions promptly.
- Offer backup itineraries and receipts for travel inquiries concerning expense reporting.
- Comprehend business dynamics among key stakeholders, travel industry connections, and NYS agencies, e.g., Office of General Services (OGS).
- Support business units/departments in organizing group/off-site meetings and/or events.
Expertise, Competencies, and Qualifications
- Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively, adhere to deadlines, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Basic knowledge of OGS/GSA policies and guidelines.
Qualifications, Experience, and Certifications
- High school diploma essential.
- Preferred minimum of 4 years experience in the travel sector.
- Familiarity with Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) necessary.
Physical Specifications
Limited travel to NYPA sites, vendor locations, and OGS Albany for program management as required.
