Our hallmark fundraising occasions and community partner initiatives provide a distinct and meaningful occasion to join us in our mission to restore lives as a sponsor, volunteer, contributor, or attendee. Discover the various events that promoted healing and fortifying those assisted by our continuum of care in 2024 below.
The Ivan Lendl Golf Classic was an exceptional day of golfing and philanthropy this year, benefiting our adaptive sports program, adaptive sports camp, and inclusive recreational activities. Special appreciation goes to Celebrity Emcee and NBC Connecticut’s Bob Maxon for bringing brightness to TPC River Highlands, and Ivan Lendl for being our camp champion. The kindness of our sponsors, golfers, and attendees enables us to continue offering our Ivan Lendl Adaptive Sports Camp at no charge to participants!
We raced towards the roses at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown and secured a record-breaking $85,000.00 to support equine therapeutic activities. We express our gratitude to all the sponsors and guests who joined us to commemorate Manes & Motions’ 25th Anniversary and contributed to this vital fundraising effort. A special thank you to Taylor Kinzler for serving as our emcee, friend, and advocate, as well as Middletown Mayor Ben Florsheim for attending and participating in the fascinators and celebrations!
This year’s MahoneySabol, CPAs and Advisors 5K at the Travelers Championship witnessed sunny weather and an impressive turnout of over 400 runners! This premier 5K generated $37,111.00 for our neuromuscular care center, which delivers groundbreaking medical assistance for patients with ALS, Parkinson’s, neuropathy, MS, and other medically intricate neuromuscular ailments.
Celia, Casey, and Dylan are high school students and devoted volunteers who have significantly benefitted from their involvement with us and have opted to organize an annual 5K to support our mission to restore lives. This year they had over 45 participants and raised $4,510.00! We extend our thanks to these committed high school student volunteers for their guidance and spirit of generosity in securing these funds to help us continue to restore lives.
This annual 5K occurs at Ellington Airport under the glow of the runway lights, benefiting our ALS Center of Excellence! The event this year raised $4,000.00 and featured a variety of activities throughout the day including skydiving, children’s games, a BBQ, and post-race s’mores by the firepit. This enjoyable fundraiser is made possible through the remarkable support from the race organizers, Connecticut Parachutists and Run169 Town Society.
The 46th annual Children’s Charities Tennis Classic took place at Newington High School’s tennis courts and proudly generated funds for the renovation of our pediatric unit floors this year. This entertaining family tennis tournament features several divisions for young players aged 10 and up through adults and had a charitable impact exceeding $8,000.00.
Kelser Corporation hosted their 27th Annual Charity Golf Challenge benefiting our Center for Cognitive Health. The tournament promises an incredible day of golf at Indian Hills Country Club, with enjoyable activities (including their signature helicopter ball drop!) and fundraising; assisting us in expanding our care offerings for individuals living with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other age-related memory disorders.
