Unveiling the Future: Will Your Next Car Be CES 2025’s Top Tech Innovation?

It’s the most delightful time of the year, and I don’t mean the festive season. It’s CES season! It’s that time to enjoy my favorite Las Vegas film, Ocean’s Eleven, and get ready for the yearly journey to discover the devices and technologies that will shape our tomorrow. 

All the glitter and spectacle will be prominently showcased, featuring high-profile speeches from Volvo Group’s president and CEO, Martin Lundstedt, along with CEOs from Nvidia, Panasonic, Delta Airlines, Accenture, and SiriusXM. Additionally, many from FINN will be present with our customers, including:

As CES establishes itself as the globe’s foremost automotive technology showcase, I’m thrilled for what lies ahead for Vehicle Technology and Advanced Mobility. Our vehicles represent the most intricate consumer technology that we will acquire in our lives. They are becoming progressively conscious of and interconnected with one another and their surroundings, as well as more automated, efficient, and eco-friendly. 

Relying on the software-defined vehicle (SDV) trend that surfaced in 2024, SDVs will become part of considerations for individuals looking to acquire one of the 15M+ new cars projected to be sold in the US in 2025 (Source: Cox). 

This year will disclose further details enabled by the age of SDVs, including firms with unified tech stacks and infotainment advancements following General Motors’ departure from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

What lies ahead in the development of SDV technology discussions? The advancement of AI and ML implementation throughout, as they mature towards a near-consumer-ready phase of acceptance. While present vehicles are devoid of the processing ability to utilize AI, organizations such as Qualcomm have unveiled robust microchips capable of executing AI within a vehicle (Source: Motor Trend).  

This is the domain to observe if you wish to interact with an in-vehicle AI by merely pointing at something. Eerie? Yes. Extremely intriguing? Also, yes.

I believe CES 2025 will be pivotal for the future of automotive technology and will propel us into a new era of software-defined vehicles, fundamentally altering our interaction with them. What do you foresee as the crucial moment of CES 2025?
