Beyoncé Playfully Roasts Netflix’s Streaming Blunders in Hilarious NFL Christmas Teaser!

Beyoncé is primed to make an appearance.

A day ahead of her NFL halftime show for Netflix during the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans matchup on Christmas, the acclaimed artist dropped a witty teaser video. In the clip, she halts a runaway football with her high-heeled shoe, which was shared on social media Tuesday.

The crowd erupts as the camera tilts upward to showcase the “Crazy In Love” vocalist playing a banjo to the melody of her latest country crossover hit, “Texas Hold ‘Em.” Ultimately, the screen freezes — a reference to Netflix’s historical streaming issues — before it resumes, with Bey giving a cheeky wink.

Netflix jokingly responded to Beyoncé’s post, stating “now hold on…” and updating its account description to “roasted by beyoncé 12.24.24.”

The Grammy-winning performer, dancer, and entrepreneur originates from Houston, home of the Texans and the venue for Wednesday’s match. Consequently, her halftime performance is a homecoming, but the entire nation will have the chance to tune in — at least for a few hours.

The Ravens-Texans contest starts streaming at 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT. According to the stipulations of Netflix’s recent agreement with the NFL, the two Christmas games (the other being Chiefs vs. Steelers, kicking off at 1 p.m. PT/10 a.m. PT) will vanish three hours following the livestream’s conclusion. This means the curtain falls for the Beyhive at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.

The artist unveiled her latest album, Cowboy Carter, in March. She has yet to perform songs from the album live, making this Houston return a prime occasion for a debut.

Cowboy Carter dominated this year’s slate of Grammy nominations, receiving 11 nominations, inclusive of the esteemed Record, Song, and Album of the Year trifecta. Beyoncé already held the record for the most Grammy wins in history, but this year also crowned her as the most nominated artist in Grammy history.

The album represents the singer’s initial full-length venture into country music, yet it received no nominations at last month’s Country Music Association awards, a situation that fellow pop-country artist Kelly Clarkson termed “fascinating,” due to “those tunes wereeverywhere.”

Regarding Netflix, the platform has encountered backlash when previous live events faced technical difficulties. The fourth season reunion of Love Is Blind was postponed by 45 minutes in April 2023, and part of last month’s streamed match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul experienced glitches.
