Dubai Police have named Taha Khokhar, recognized online as Pakman, as their inaugural Gaming Ambassador. This Pakistani-Canadian influencer, who has resided in Dubai for a year, began with an objective to support his family via his gaming profession. Proficient in several languages and currently acquiring Arabic, Pakman is committed to building a more inclusive gaming community in the region.

“I have been gaming for as long as I can recall. From the moment I held a controller, I was captivated. Observing YouTubers transform their passion into a career motivated me to start producing my videos back in 2010,” shared the 28-year-old.

Pakman contemplated significant milestones that have influenced his gaming journey. “Generating my first $1,000 from streaming was a turning point. It made me understand that my achievements were not merely luck; they were the culmination of hard work.”

His collaboration with the Call of Duty franchise was a crucial moment that allowed him to evolve from content creation to engaging in significant gaming events. “Participating in launch campaigns for new Call of Duty titles was a tremendous privilege for me.”

Pakman’s aspiration to emerge as the face of gaming in the Middle East compelled him to relocate from Canada to Dubai. “Upon my arrival last year,I was struck by the Dubai Police’s dedication to cultivating a lively gaming community through competitions,” he remarked. Following a year of concerted efforts, he is now at the forefront as the designated Gaming Ambassador, seeking to boost the local gaming environment and improve community involvement.

Pakman encountered obstacles early in his journey, grappling with achievement for more than ten years. “When Covid arrived, I adopted the moniker Pakman. I aimed to demonstrate that anyone can realize their aspirations, irrespective of societal norms. As a Pakistani man, I frequently faced limitations regarding my career choices, but I was resolute in making it in gaming—an industry often dismissed as a ‘foolish aspiration.’”

His tenacity brought him to his current position, despite skeptics urging him to follow a more conventional career route.

Pakman stands out as a prominent English-speaking gaming creator in the Middle East. “Achievement stemmed from tireless effort and, admittedly, a bit of fortune. I often operated on merely a couple of hours of sleep each night,” he elucidated. His content has garnered over 100 million views this year, showcasing his influence within the GCC region.

With more than 1.5 million followers on social platforms, Pakman intends to utilize his reach to promote cybersecurity and responsible gaming. “I stress the importance of being vigilant online. I share my personal experiences to illustrate that cybersecurity is a genuine concern,” he conveyed.

Pakman mentions he has been broadcasting for four years, without a single day off. “The determination to demonstrate my abilities kept me inspired. I wanted to ensure I had no regrets, knowing I put forth my utmost effort,” he expressed.
