SEOUL, Dec. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics intends to present two fresh concepts for its plant cultivation appliance, “LG Tiiun,” at CES 2025, the largest global event for consumer electronics and IT.
The innovative designs merge home aesthetics with usability, furthering LG’s venture into plant lifestyle technology.
The new LG Tiiun concepts showcase a stand light model and a side table design. Both items are multipurpose, serving as plant cultivators along with mood lighting and audio speakers.
The stand light version provides adjustable LED illumination, accommodating both daytime plant development and nighttime relaxation. The side table variant, drawing inspiration from classic bedside lamps, incorporates a Bluetooth speaker for music playback.
Users can effortlessly grow plants with seed kits, water, and nutrients, while the LED lighting guarantees optimal growth conditions. Each unit can accommodate up to four seed kits, facilitating simultaneous growth of diverse plants.
The devices also connect with the LG ThinQ application, allowing users to modify lighting preferences and receive notifications for water refills.
LG aims to release the stand light variant of LG Tiiun in the second half of 2025, while a launch date for the side table design has yet to be determined. These advancements highlight LG’s ongoing expansion of its plant appliance range, following the initial Tiiun in 2021 and the Tiiun Mini in 2022.
The domestic market for indoor plant cultivation devices has experienced notable growth, largely propelled by the pandemic. As per the Korea Invention Promotion Association, the market, which reached KRW 121.6 billion ($92 million) in 2021, is expected to expand at an annual rate of 75%, advancing to KRW 1.75 trillion ($1.3 billion) by 2026.
Jang Young-jo, chief of LG’s Sprout Company, indicated, “We are dedicated to enhancing customer experiences by adapting to lifestyle trends and developing unique solutions that make plant care more enjoyable with LG Tiiun.”
