Metaphor ReFantazio represented a new venture into fantasy for a company predominantly recognized for its demonic and religious themes along with repetitive high school drama. However, the standout characteristics from their previous series shine even more brilliantly here.
The day-to-day system is utilized adeptly to elaborate on the new realm they’ve developed. The combat possesses the style and flair of Persona, enriched by the depth of Shin Megami Tensei, and infused with the class system of Final Fantasy. With a roster of allies that I will always remember and wish I could have experienced more of, even after nearly one hundred hours of the adventure. In 2024, most games select their path. Either they opt to fully embrace the single-player experience or focus entirely on multiplayer with PvP and PvE modes. The reason I give my vote to Black Ops 6 for Game of the Year is there is no other game released in 2024 that offers players such a rich and immersive single-player campaign, a comprehensive cooperative experience in zombies, and a well-rounded multiplayer PVP suite. Black Ops 6 accomplishes all this while providing ample accessibility options, and the cherry on top is that the game operates smoothly on current platforms.
