The Friends of Okeeheelee Nature Center will hold their ninth annual Raptor Day for Nature Photographers on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Okeeheelee Nature Center located in Okeeheelee Park. The backup date in case of rain is Saturday, March 1.

Numerous raptor species will be showcased in a natural, outdoor environment. Every attempt will be made to position the animals in ideal lighting with natural backdrops. Following a brief introduction to the center’s resident rehabilitated birds and an overview of the regulations, birds will be positioned on natural perches, allowing photographers to take pictures at their own convenience.

The fee is $45 per individual, and participation will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited space. Tickets can be purchased at https://friendsofokeeheelee.wildapricot.org. Additionally, tickets may be acquired via phone at (561) 233-1400.

All funds raised from this charitable event will support the animal ambassadors, exhibits, and programs at the Okeeheelee Nature Center and are tax-deductible. Participants must be a minimum of 12 years old. Younger participants (ages 12-15) must be accompanied by an adult supervisor. This event is not accessible for wheelchairs.

The Okeeheelee Nature Center is managed by Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation and is situated in Okeeheelee Park at 7715 Forest Hill Blvd. For further details about the facility and other nature centers operated by the county, please visit www.pbcnature.com.
