NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) – While many experience the pressure that accompanies the holiday season, one small enterprise in Warrick County discovered a method to inject some festive enjoyment during the hectic holiday shopping period, encouraging customers to dance their way to savings.

Sara Brown is the proprietor of Social Bird Boutique in Newburgh. She expresses that she infuses her personality into the shop, which features a little bit of everything.

The boutique showcases a variety of products, from household items to decorations, accessories, and beyond.

In addition to their inventory, she emphasizes they aim to foster a warm atmosphere as well.

“When individuals enter, I want everyone to feel like family, and that they’re our closest friends; and hopefully, they do!” Brown remarks.

With this goal in mind, they recently implemented an innovative method to engage customers: a discount for those willing to dance in exchange for it, capturing the moments on video.

Customers who entered dancing earned a ten-percent discount.

Some even incorporated choreography and provided their own music.

They expressed it was gratifying to witness how customers embraced the opportunity to be playful and enjoy themselves.

“Whenever Sara’s around in the mornings, we just giggle the entire time basically,” shares Jaidyn Smith, an employee at Social Bird Boutique. “Then she heads home, and I continue to laugh with other visitors who arrive.”

Brown enjoys contributing her creativity to the boutique, and while she has discovered other methods to provide discounts, there was something uniquely special about their dance day.

“The sheer number of smiles that came in that day brought immense joy to all of us, and we will surely be reintroducing it,” Brown states.
