Introducing the Elite 2024-25 All-Arizona Boys High School Swim and Dive Champions!

Presenting The Republic’s 2024-25 All-Arizona Boys High School Swimming and Diving Team along with the Coach of the Year. This squad comprises athletes who participated in events organized by the Arizona Interscholastic Association during this season (arranged alphabetically).

The boys swimmer/diver of the year will be chosen from these 12 candidates and revealed at the conclusion of the academic year at the Arizona High School Sports Awards ceremony.

All-Arizona Boys Swim, Dive Team

Al Alexandrovich, Goodyear Trivium Prep, Jr.

The Division III victor in the 200 IM with the third-fastest time statewide. He achieved the fifth-fastest time in Arizona for the 100 breast, a race he won at the Division III competition.

Seth Crow, Scottsdale Chaparral, Sr.

He secured victories in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle at the Division I championships for the second consecutive year. His time of 19.63 in the 50 was the fourth-fastest in Arizona high school history. He has committed to Arizona State.

Kyle Dowe, Tucson Catalina Foothills, Sr.

He clinched the Division II state championships in both the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke. He achieved the second-fastest time across the state in the 200 IM and the third-fastest in breaststroke.

Michael Fox, Horizon, Sr.

Fox was the D-II state champion in the 100 fly and 100 backstroke.

Austin Hargreaves, Surprise Paradise Honors, Jr.

He was the Division III champion in both the 50 free and 100 free with the second-fastest times in the state for each event.

Mark Heffern, Phoenix Brophy Prep, Jr.

He triumphed in the 200 individual medley, contributing to his team’s victory in the Division I state championship. He placed fourth in the 100 backstroke.

Grant Kellis, Gilbert Higley, Jr.

During the D-I championships, he finished as the runner-up in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, recording the second-fastest 200 free time across the state.

Declan Kelly, Scottsdale Desert Mountain, Sr.

He claimed the state title at the D-II level in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:42.98. He has committed to Wisconsin.

Langston Lindsey, Chandler Arizona College Prep, So.

He secured second place in the Division I championships for the 100 butterfly and first in the 100 backstroke. His backstroke accomplishment was the quickest statewide at any level.

Ethan Reniewicki, Chaparral, Sr.

He claimed victory in the state titles for the 200 free and 100 butterfly with the fastest times across all divisions.

Tanner Sheffert, Goodyear Estrella Foothills, Sr.

He triumphed at the Division II level in both the 100 and 200 freestyles, marking the third-fastest overall times in the state for each event.

Chase Sorosky, Phoenix Country Day, Sr.

He established a historic state scoring record in the 1-meter diving event, winning the Division III state championship. He is set to join Princeton. He ranks among the top 10 diving recruits nationally.

Coach of the Year

Jordan Brough, Gilbert Classical

He achieved the milestone of leading his team to the school’s inaugural state championship in any sport, clinching the Division III boys swimming and diving title. Brough began his coaching journey at the institution in 2015, and after losing his job in sales and marketing, he transitioned into teaching at the school.

“As we approached the season, we recognized an opportunity to create history,” he mentioned. “Last season concluded on a high note, and nearly all of our point scorers were back. The beginning of the season presented some hurdles as a top swimmer transferred in the summer, and our leading diver departed the team for personal matters.

“Fortunately, our captains stepped up and ensured everyone was committed. Throughout the year, our team practiced with a competitive attitude, racing against each other daily. It was a thrilling experience to see these athletes achieve feats they never believed were possible. We entered the state meet with a fourth-place ranking if we assessed the psychsheet.”
