“New Year’s Eve is a significant night for Sacramento, and understanding these safety recommendations can enhance everyone’s enjoyment,” stated Tina Lee-Vogt, the City’s Nighttime Economy Manager. “Arrange for transportation, be aware of your limits, take safety measures, understand the rules of your venue, and most importantly, have a great time!”
Here are some recommendations for enjoying a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve.

- Consume alcohol responsibly and remain hydrated.
- Never leave your beverage unattended or accept drinks from unfamiliar individuals.
- If you intend to drink, appoint a designated safe and sober driver.
- Be aware of personal safety measures:
- Always stay conscious of your environment and know the exits in case of emergencies.
- Avoid leaving with someone you don’t know without informing someone close to you.
- Act as a supportive bystander and intervene appropriately if you witness harassment.
