Eric Bénier-Bürckel Photography Born in Paris in 1971, Eric Bénier-Bürckel is a philosophy professor and author. He started his photographic work in 2013. His analysis, in each content material and kind, goals to query illustration, even to create unease inside it. It is primarily targeted on experimentation. “Not to record the visible, but to challenge it, to return it to the dazzling and senseless power of its appearance.” EBB “My work stems from a paradox: to creburate images, one must begin, if not by distrusting images, then at least by unlearning their obvious truths. Idol-images imprison the individual within themselves, while icon-images, on the contrary, open them up to that which transcends them. The strangeness within the image points precisely toward the outside of every image. It is this outside that, in my view, makes clichés tremble and revives the unknown they conceal. In any case, it is this outside that obsesses my photographs. Photography is therefore not, for me, a simple recording of reality; it is first and foremost a means of shaking up our domestic image of reality, composed of a patchwork of labels and stereotypes that prevent us from seeing. Photography as I practice it is neither more realistic nor surreal: it is astonishment. As for the figures that haunt my photographs, they are less established certainties than question marks that speak volumes.” the fragility of being, the stupefaction of residing.” #ericbenierburckel #pictures #photographychallenge #photographie #photooftheday #photographychallengechallengeraphychallengechallenge #photographychallengechallenge #photobooth #foto #fotografie #photographychallengeraphychallenge #photographer #blackandwhite #blackandwhitephotography
