A cloud of mystery has enveloped the PC Gamer offices. In the midst of numerous hardware successes, the strange incident of the missing keycaps has slightly dampened the holiday spirit. As it happens, when mechanical keyboards cease their clacking during a keycap replacement, team members frequently turn back only to find that their recently removed, loose keycaps have disappeared.
The team quickly dismissed standard end-of-year forgetfulness and cluttered desks accumulating debris, as their initial step was to inquire if I had any knowledge regarding the vanishing keycaps. With stuffed cheeks resembling a hamster, I mumbled something along the lines of, “Not a clue, my apologies.”
I maintain my innocence; I do not possess a keycap dilemma, loose keycaps represent a me issue. Besides, with my assigned tasks staring back at me, how was I supposed to decipher ‘best keyb noms’? Regardless, I have been assigned the role of guiding you through a delectable assortment of keyboards—from a safe distance. Rest assured, no keyboards sustained harm during the crafting of this award nomination list (and I wasn’t pleased about it).
My peers are casting a horrified glance in my direction which I can only interpret as, ‘stop admitting your keyboard offenses and proceed.’ So, without dwelling further on how scrumptious Cherry switches appear, here are the three contenders for the best gaming keyboard.
