Dominant Display: Texas A&M Overwhelms Abilene Christian 92-54 in Decisive Showdown

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — — Wade Taylor IV scored 15 points and achieved a career-best 10 assists, while Zhuric Phelps contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds in the No. 13 Texas A&M’s 92-54 victory over Abilene Christian on Saturday.

Taylor’s 15 points surpassed Vernon Smith, who tallied 1,778 points at A&M from 1977-81, moving him to second on Texas A&M’s all-time scoring chart. Taylor now has 1,779 career points and requires 212 more to overtake Bernard King, who accumulated 1,990 points from 1999-2003, becoming Texas A&M’s all-time leading scorer.

Taylor made his return after being absent for his first career game on Dec. 20 against Houston Christian.

The Aggies (11-2) commenced the game with a 7-0 spurt and never looked back. Texas A&M held a 48-29 lead at halftime and concluded the game with a 12-0 run over the final 5:24.

Quion Williams was the top scorer for Abilene Christian (8-6) with 14 points.
