Indiana Gains 2026 Commitment From Sprinter Brody Engelstad
NEW COMMITMENT: Indiana University has secured a verbal commitment for Fall 2026 from Junior National qualifier Brody Engelstad hailing from West Fargo, North Dakota.
He will join Sam Wolf in Bloomington as part of the Hoosiers’ Class of 2030.
On his commitment, he expressed:
“I am thrilled to share my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic pursuits at Indiana University! I want to extend my gratitude to my family, as well as the coaches, teachers, teammates, and friends who have encouraged me throughout this journey. Additionally, I appreciate all of the IU coaches for this remarkable opportunity. Go Hoosiers!”
A sprint freestyler, Engelstad most recently participated in Juniors West where he reached the finals in both the 50 free and 100 free events. During the last summer, he made finals in the 50m free and 100m free at the Speedo Summer Championships.
He trains throughout the year with the West Fargo Flyers.
His best times are as follows:
Currently a junior at West Fargo High School, Engelstad claimed victory in the 50 free and 100 free at the North Dakota State Championships in both 2023 and 2024.
The Hoosiers achieved their third consecutive Big Ten title in 2024, also finishing fourth at the NCAA Championships in 2024.
