RYDE Swimming Club’s awards evening witnessed the distribution of over 100 medals to their accomplished swimmers.
The honors were earned at the Isle of Wight Club Championships, where Ryde competed against Seaclose and West Wight Swimming clubs.
Island councillor for Ryde, Michael Lilley, and the chair of Ryde Swimming Club, Todd Miller, distributed the accolades, which were followed by the announcement of the male, female, and master swimmer of the year awards by head coach Donna Adams.
Todd commented: “The swimmers performed exceptionally well at the Isle of Wight Championships, with most achieving remarkable personal best times.
“We take pride in all of our swimmers — and it was wonderful to witness the team spirit they exhibited during competitions.”
The club has recently obtained sponsorship from Wightlink, which will aid in facilitating attendance at mainland competitions for the swimmers.

Following the awards ceremony, the swimmers participated in a ‘swimathon’, dividing into five teams to complete as many lengths as possible within 75 minutes.
The victorious team accomplished over 200 lengths, and the event raised more than £500 for the club.
The funds collected will be utilized to assist volunteers in enhancing their skills.
