“Splashes of Triumph: Ethan Bonow Shatters Swimming Records at School!”

Freshman Ethan Bonow from the men’s swim squad has recently set two school records.

Hailing from Crawford, Texas, Bonow shared with Sports Editor Lane Mills that he has been participating in swimming for nearly ten years. During his initial semester at Asbury, Bonow has already been awarded the title of athlete of the week on two occasions.

The first record Bonow shattered was for the Men’s 100 Meter Freestyle, creating a new benchmark of 45.76. He subsequently broke a second record in the finals, this time for the Men’s 50 Meter Freestyle, which he recorded at 20.80—a remarkable feat considering the earlier record was also set by him at 20.86.

The head swimming coach, Graham Duncan, remarked on the Asbury Eagles website, “It’s always an absolute joy to observe Ethan in competition. He dedicates himself intensely during daily practices, and witnessing that dedication yield significant results is truly gratifying. Achieving two school records and a new meet record in the same weekend is an astonishing feat, but for me, the best part was seeing Ethan motivate his teammates and consistently finding ways to inspire excellence in those around him. He is a remarkable young man, and I eagerly anticipate his continued development throughout this season.”
