Numerous Americans are “snowbird” voyagers who travel to warm locales during the winter season — yet “glowbirding” has certain adventurers searching for more than merely sunny weather.

The emerging trend has garnered the interest of younger generations, with Gen-Z members booking journeys that focus on wellness and physical pursuits.

Connor Smith, a vice president at IHG Hotels & Resorts, conveyed to Fox News Digital that younger explorers “are also fed up with the cold.”

NEW TRAVEL TREND HAS AMERICANS PURSUING ELIXIR OF YOUTH

“Having grown up in the Northeast, I understand their perspective,” stated Smith.

“However, escaping the chill isn’t solely about discovering warmer climates. It’s also a means to cope with seasonal affective disorder (SAD).”

Smith elaborated, “At IHG Hotels & Resorts, we’ve noticed a rise in guests integrating wellness into their journeys – whether it’s to nourish the mind, body, or spirit.”

Gabby Beckford, a Gen Z content creator at @PacksLight, mentioned in a VRBO press statement, “My generation treasures experiences, and we are entirely focused on mental wellness.”

“We’ve observed an increase in guests incorporating wellness into their travels.”

She also stated, “Fleeing the cold is not merely about seeking warmer temperatures — it’s crucial in addressing my seasonal depression … In addition, being in environments where I can remain active outdoors throughout the year helps me stay physically fit and mentally alert.”

It continues through the majority of March, according to the announcement.

The survey further indicated that both millennials and Gen Z consumers invest more in health and wellness compared to any other generational cohort.
