Boys Wrestling Takes 22nd Place at the Al Smith Invitational: A Test of Grit and Determination!

DAY 1 SUMMARY

The Warsaw Tiger Wrestlers concluded the first day of the Al Smith Invitational positioned in 20th place collectively.

Although only one wrestler moved on to the following day’s placement matches, 12 of the 14 wrestlers secured victories and earned advancement points in the leading individual tournament in the state.

Kameron Kauffman achieved three first-period pins, propelling him into the semifinals at 285 pounds.

KC Smith (132) and Enrique Silva (150) showcased remarkable performances for the Tigers. Both competitors progressed deep into the tournament but fell just one match shy of placing.

Smith initiated the morning with a tech fall in the first round before advancing into the consolation rounds. He secured two additional wins by decision and wrapped up the day with a 3-2 record.

Silva’s 3-2 record was bolstered by three pinfalls—one in the opening round and two in the consolations.

DAY 2 SUMMARY

Warsaw Wrestling finished the second day of the Al Smith Invitational in 22nd position.

The field of 32 teams is filled with many of the finest programs in the state and top-ranked competitors.

Kameron Kauffman was the sole Tiger to qualify for the placement matches on day two.

His 1-2 record for the day and 4-2 overall record in the tournament granted him a 4th place finish.
