2005-06 (Freshman) Overview: Triumphed in the 200-yard medley relay with teammates Mike Cordes, John Weaver, and Nate Bromage against Stony Brook (10/29) and at Southern Connecticut State (11/6) where they achieved their fastest time (1:37.06) … Secured solid placements in the 50-yard freestyle with a third (22.24) against Stony Brook (10/29) and a second (22.36) at Southern Connecticut State (11/6) … Also performed well in the 100-yard freestyle taking third (49.10) against Stony Brook and second (48.95) at Southern Connecticut State (11/6) … Finished fourth (1:50.48) in the 200-yard freestyle at the UConn Invitational (10/15)…Achieved 4th in the 50 yard freestyle(22.44), 7th in the 100 yard freestyle (50.52), and 2nd in the 400 yard freestyle relay(3:18.02) against Army(11/18)… Obtained a 4th place result (1:25.84) with his teammates in the 200 Freestyle Relay and came in 19th (22.20) in the 50 Yard Freestyle at the Brown Invitational (12/2). Also earned a 6th place finish (3:36.77) in the 400 Yard Medley Relay.
Prior to UMass: A 2005 alumnus of Westfield High School where he was the Massachusetts 50 Freestyle State Champion during his senior year … finished third at the 2005 State Championships in the 100 freestyle (47.95 seconds) … also claimed titles as the 50 and 100 freestyle Western Massachusetts champion as a senior … recognized for All-American consideration … holds the high school record for the 50 free (21.65 seconds) … placed third in the 50 free (22.18 seconds) at the 2004 Massachusetts Championships and second in the 100 free (49.03 seconds) … part of the National Honor Society.
