Citizen Bull: Leading 10 Gaming Hopefuls to Victory!

Citizen Bull and Gaming, who finished first and second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, along with unbeaten Grade 3 victor Bullard, were among the prominent juveniles that worked out on Saturday morning.

Citizen Bull completed five furlongs in 59.4 seconds, marking the second-fastest of 59 workouts at that distance. Gaming finished five furlongs in 1:02.6.

Both Citizen Bull and Gaming are conditioned by Bob Baffert. This marks Citizen Bull’s third workout since defeating his stablemate by 1 1/2 lengths in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on November 1 at Del Mar. Following that second-place finish, Gaming took third in the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) on December 14.

As of Sunday night, Citizen Bull is listed at 20-1 in Las Vegas, closing at 16-1 in the second pool of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager offered by Churchill Downs. Gaming, at 28-1 in Las Vegas, closed at 21-1 in the second KDFW pool.

The Bob Hope (G3) champion Bullard, who is undefeated in two races thus far for trainer Michael McCarthy, worked five furlongs in 1:00.8. The Gun Runner colt is entered to compete next Saturday in the San Vicente (G2), which is a seven-furlong race at Santa Anita. Bullard was at 33-1 in Las Vegas as of Sunday night and 24-1 in the second KDFW pool.
