ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Alaska Jewish Campus is commemorating the festival of lights with an “extreme trampoline performance” on Sunday, which will be part of an event that also includes food, arts and crafts, inflatables, music, and more.
This year’s “Cirque Du Chanukah” will feature various activity stations as well as the lighting of an ice menorah.
“More than a thousand attendees are expected; it’s one grand celebration, the largest Jewish gathering in Alaska for the year,” stated Rabbi Yosef Greenberg of the Lubavitch Jewish Center of Alaska. “Everyone is invited to participate, as Hanukkah carries such a significant message of religious freedom, freedom of worship, and respect for all diversities.
“The key message, I would highlight, is the triumph of light,” Greenberg mentioned, “and the victory of light over darkness.”
Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024. The event is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Egan Center, positioned at 555 W. 5th Ave. in Anchorage.
Tickets cost $20 for adults and $13 for children at the entrance, or you may buy them beforehand for $17 for adults and $10 for kids.
