Feneide and Williamson Make Waves with Double Gold at Saint Peter’s Swimming and Diving Showdown

JERSEY CITY, NJ– The Manhattan Jaspers men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads achieved several first-place standings against the Saint Peter’s Peacocks on Saturday at the Eugene and Teresa Imperatore Swimming and Diving Center, though ultimately fell 169-65 for the men, while the women ended 136-98.

HIGHLIGHTS

• A standout performer for Manhattan was Junior Elle Feneide, who secured first place in the Women 1650 Yard Freestyle with a final clock of 18:55.90, nearly 30 seconds faster than Saint Peter’s Solano Vargas, who took second.
• Feneide also achieved a first-place finish in the Women 100 Yard Freestyle, culminating with a finals time of 55.19.
• Junior Jaila Williamson topped the Women 100 Yard Breaststroke rankings with a finishing time of 1:11.72.
• Senior Joe Brennan secured second in the Men 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 59:24.
• Junior Abelardo Cartagena recorded a second-place finish in the Men 200 Yard Backstroke with a clocking of 2:10.08.
• Manhattan excelled in the Women 100 Yard Butterfly, with Feneide achieving a final timestamp of 1:01.99, nearly four seconds ahead of her teammate, junior Sophia Leber, who finished second.
• In the Women 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, the team consisting of Leber, Williamson, Feneide, and junior Shayna Millard posted a finals time of 3:44.84 to clinch the victory.

The Jaspers are set to compete again when both Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving take on the Monmouth Hawks on Wednesday, November 6, at the Richard E. Steadman Natatorium in West Long Branch, NJ. The contest will be broadcast on FloCollege with a subscription fee.
