Basketball Brilliance: Rubio De La Rosa and Hunt Shine with Weekly Accolades

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following impressive individual displays, Columbia’s Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa (player) and Harvard’s Austin Hunt (rookie) received Ivy League weekly men’s basketball accolades.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa, Columbia (Sr., G – Santiago, Dominican Republic)

• Unleashed all of his 27 points during the second half of Saturday’s 85-72 victory against Fairfield
• Achieved 8-of-11 shooting from the field, 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe to propel the Lions in the last 20 minutes
• This is his third player of the week distinction this season

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Austin Hunt, Harvard (Fy., G – Marlborough, Mass)

• Recorded a personal best of 16 points, contributing three assists, two rebounds, and two steals in Harvard’s 67-61 triumph over Iona
• Converted 5-of-9 shots from the floor and 5-of-6 free throws
• Scored 14 out of his 16 points in the second half
