PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia men’s basketball’s Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa has been recognized as Ivy League Player of the Week for the third occasion this season, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

In the matchup against Fairfield on Saturday, where the Lions triumphed 85-72, Rubio De La Rosa made a remarkable contribution by scoring all of his 27 points in the second half. He achieved an impressive 8-11 from the field, 5-7 from three-point range, and maintained a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line in the last 20 minutes. This marked the seventh 20-point performance of Rubio De La Rosa’s current season.

Columbia (11-1) is experiencing its best start since 1969-70 and has accomplished winning its first eight home games in a season for the first time since 1981-82. The Lions will face Rutgers on Monday at 5 p.m., with the game streaming live on the Big Ten Network.
