Rattlers Face Tough Setback Against Tarleton State, Concluding the Nation’s Most Challenging Non-Conference Journey

Early in the game, the Rattlers demonstrated persistence, seizing a 4-point advantage with 11:44 left in the first half. However, Tarleton State answered with a 9-0 run during a crucial stretch and took a 39-26 lead into the break. Keitenn Bristow was difficult to guard, netting 23 points for the Texans while shooting an impressive 9-of-14 from the field.

Despite the defeat, the Rattlers displayed encouraging signs against another formidable opponent. FAMU achieved a free throw shooting percentage of 76.2% (16-of-21) and forced 11 turnovers.

The Rattlers are now focusing on SWAC competition, starting with a rivalry game against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, January 4, 2025. This conference opener signifies a new beginning for FAMU after enduring one of Division I’s most arduous non-conference schedules.
