LOWELL, Mass. – On Friday, UMass Lowell Softball’s Head Coach Jen Starek revealed the full schedule for the 2025 season. The team will kick off the season on Friday, Feb. 7 against Weber State.

“We are thrilled to be out there competing,” stated Head Coach Jen Starek. “We hope that the initial phase of the schedule will set us up well for conference competition.”

The River Hawks begin their season in San Antonio, Texas, where they will partake in five matches at the UTSA Invitational. Alongside Weber State, the squad will also face Southern Illinois – Edwardsville and the host team, Texas – San Antonio, throughout the three-day tournament.

Following this, the River Hawks will make their way to Buies Creek, North Carolina to participate in four matches at the Camel Invitational from Feb. 14-16. Cambell will be hosting UMass Lowell along with Eastern Kentucky, Lafayette, and Bryant for this event.

UMass Lowell proceeds with its tournament schedule in Norfolk, Va. at the Spartan/Pirate Challenge from Feb. 28-March 2, featuring five matchups, including two doubleheaders against Norfolk State and Hampton, and concluding with a single game against Norfolk State.

The River Hawks will conclude their southern series at the Cathi Maynard Invitational from March 7-9, in Clarksville, Tenn., where UMass Lowell, Bucknell, Appalachian State, and the host, Austin Peay will each participate in five matches.

UMass Lowell will return to New England to compete against Massachusetts for the Kennedy Cup on March 19 at River View Field.

The month of March marks the beginning of America East competition, as the River Hawks head to Baltimore, Md. to confront UMBC in a three-game series on Mar. 22-23. Following this, UMass Lowell is scheduled to have a non-conference doubleheader against Merrimack at their venue on Mar. 27, followed by a three-game series against Maine at home on Mar. 29-30.

In April, the River Hawks will take on six foes, set to compete in a total of 16 matches against UAlbany (Apr. 5-6), Holy Cross (Apr. 8), Bryant (Apr. 12-13), Binghamton (Apr. 18-19), Stonehill (Apr. 23), and Maine (Apr. 26-27). The home games for UMass Lowell in April will be against Binghamton and Stonehill.

The America East Conference Championship will take place at Binghamton, from May 7-10.
