Our photographers have attended every Gunners match throughout 2024, capturing a plethora of thrilling moments and magnificent scenes through their lenses over the last year.
We requested seasoned club photographers Stuart MacFarlane and David Price, along with Alex Burstow—who has significantly contributed to our women’s match coverage—to sift through their archives and pick their top shots from the year.
Each of them could select only 12 images, so relish their choices as they elucidate how they captured these shots and what makes them remarkable:
1: After a shooting drill, David tumbled into the net, and I was fortunate to be in the ideal spot to seize this moment.
2: I truly appreciate the emotional contrast between Kai, Jorginho, and the Brighton defenders, who failed to stop Kai from scoring.
3: I was fortunate to time this shot perfectly as the Wolves player’s boot struck Gabby’s chin, thankfully he wasn’t harmed by the tackle.
4: Big Gabi consistently displays wonderful expressions, particularly following goals. He relishes sharing with the fans what it signifies to him.
5: I shot this fairly loosely to capture as much rain as I could. Getting drenched at matches is a job hazard not only for Mikel and the players but for photographers too!
6: I extended my lens through the goal net during this post-training shooting exercise. Fortunately, Bukayo placed the ball in the top corner instead of directly at me!
7: A silhouette of Dec in a tranquil moment amidst an intense training session.
8: The height of his jump and Mikel’s expression create a truly powerful image—he nearly leaped out of the top of the frame.
9: Bukayo relishing a post-training contest with Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Training is always professional, yet there’s always room for fun afterwards.
10: Capturing this shot poses a challenge as I have to weave my way into the huddle without being intrusive.
11: I was in the prime position for Bukayo’s iconic celebration—such a simple image, yet incredibly fulfilling to capture.
12: The captain is about to lead his squad onto the field. I adore Martin’s intense focus.

2: A whimsical moment that brings a smile to my face—Big Gabi’s innocent expression after a challenge with Alexander Isak.
3: This is probably my favorite photograph of 2024. It perfectly illustrates the significance of the players’ victory over Porto after a penalty shootout. There’s always uncertainty in these moments, but this shot turned out exceptionally well, and I’m very pleased with it.
4: I appreciate how many of our players are present in this image, all rushing to celebrate with goalscorer Kai. The fact that it’s against Tottenham makes it even sweeter!
5: The concluding match of an extraordinary season, with a fantastic display before the game to energize the supporters.
6: Another enjoyable moment—the Arsenal academy under-8s sprinting past me as they exit the pitch at half-time.
7: This was captured during the pre-season media day on the Premier League’s set, and I had the good fortune to capture some behind-the-scenes moments. I admire how focused Jurrien appears amidst all the Arsenal flags and banners around him.
8: Two celebrations in a single year—another delightful celebration shot from Tottenham. I find it interesting how you can see the veins bulging on Big Gabi after his goal!
9: Declan faced some teasing from the Sporting Lisbon fans as he took the corner leading to Big Gabi’s goal, so he simply celebrated back with a big grin.
10: Martin Odegaard before the match against Manchester United—similar to Stu’s shot above, I just love the concentration he exudes ahead of the game.
11: A lovely action shot as Gabriel Jesus maneuvers past Trevoh Chalobah on his way to scoring his first of a remarkable hat trick.
12: You can’t help but enjoy the big grin on Gabby’s face after netting his second a few weeks back.
