Greetings to the Fun Folds Blog Hop featuring Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

Hello, Stampers! Today we have an exciting blog hop featuring talented fun fold crafters, and I am certain you will relish the creativity this month. Below, there’s a sequence to facilitate your hopping experience to view all the inspiring projects from other inventive SU demonstrators. This fun fold is referred to as a Double Gatefold, a delightful twist on the standard gatefold. It was an excellent fold to explore with the new Linked Together bundle. I am enamored with the gorgeous patterned papers found in the Mixed Media paper pack from the upcoming mini catalog, available in January.

My Insights!

Let’s begin with the card foundation…

  • First, this A2 card commenced with cardstock, trimmed to 5-1/2 x 12, and scored at 2, 4, 8, and 10. Then, I reduced each side panel down to the 2-3/4 mark along both edges.
  • DSP #1: 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 (2 or 4)
  • DSP #2: 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 (4)
  • Tip: After cutting the DSP panels, I discovered the simplest method to ensure I angled the cuts correctly was to place the DSP behind the card base (securing it with a post-it) and mark the edge of the card base onto the DSP. This made it simple to trim it accurately along the straight edge.
  • Cardstock or DSP Panel: 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 and white cardstock, 3-5/8 x 5-1/8 for the interior personalized message

Now, for the FUN Part!

  • Once all the panels were affixed together and attached to the card base, I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the Unbounded Love set in Boho Blue ink onto the inside panel.

Next, moving on to the belly band…

  • The belly band was crafted using Boho Blue cardstock, cutting a piece measuring 11 x 1, scoring it at 3″, and loosely wrapping it around the folded card, trimming the ends to allow an overlap of about 1-1/2″. I trimmed two pieces of the DSP to a width of 3/4″ and adhered them to the belly band.
  • Next, I cut out the large square die from the Stylish Shapes collection. Subsequently, I stamped the “Enjoy” phrase from the new Linked Together stamp set and die-cut it using the lovely oval die from the matching die collection. A couple more ovals were cut to layer beneath the sentiment.
  • After that was completed, I cut flowers and branches from white cardstock, then applied color to the flowers with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.
  • The entire panel was elevated using dimensionals on the belly band.
  • Lastly, I added Faux Glass Dots at the centers of the flowers.
