“Ring in the New Year: Exciting Family Games That Outshine the Ball Drop!”

If your family prefers to stay in and socialize with friends rather than venturing out on New Year’s Eve, Amber Mamian (also known as Global Munchkins) is highlighting several family-friendly games that are definitely worth exploring. My family enjoys board games, but the games Amber is presenting look like a lot more enjoyment, and we intend to try each one!

In the first game, which she names the “Blindfold Pour Challenge,” family members don a blindfold and attempt to pour sparkling juice into a champagne glass. It may not appear overly demanding, but after viewing this video, I believe it’s significantly tougher than it seems!

This is such a delightful concept, and it proved to be a success given all the laughter from Amber’s family! I’m not fond of messes across my kitchen counter, so I would probably place a baking sheet in my farmhouse sink for easy cleanup. Aside from that, I am certain my kids will adore this game – they are always up for a blindfold challenge!

But participating would be incredibly fun!!” Instagram user @laurenmcraemoore expressed what I was contemplating, “I admire how self-assured some of the pourers appeared and then none landed LOL!” Of course, there’s typically one party pooper, and in this instance, it was @megan_christenbery, “So wasteful.” You don’t have to use juice; you could substitute water instead, and it would be equally entertaining (and less messy)!

Additional Family-Friendly Games for New Year’s Eve

Amber listed a few more games that I am eager to play on New Year’s Eve.

Mustache Challenge: This one is ideal if you plan to have the television on or if you have a favorite movie to watch.

I suppose I will need to dash to the party supply store to procure some mustaches! It would also be amusing to use eyeballs.

Cake-flipping Challenge: Acquire a store-bought (or homemade) cake, and everyone takes their turn to see how many times they can flip and catch it without dropping it. I’m not adventurous enough for the mess this would create in my kitchen, but it could be a good outdoor game!

Fun Party Vibes provided some additional enjoyable family-friendly game ideas.

New Year’s Bingo: Create bingo cards featuring party hats, clocks, confetti, and similar items. Bingo is a delightful slow-paced game that can keep a group entertained for an extended period. Include some fun, small rewards (visit the Dollar Tree!) for winners, or have everyone contribute a quarter or dollar a game and the victor takes all.

Midnight Scavenger Hunt: Try this one from Fun Party Vibes if your kids are old enough to wander the neighborhood at midnight. It’s also a game that would be enjoyable for adults to participate in as well.

Guess That Memory: “This game is ideal for reminiscing about shared experiences. Each family member writes down a few cherished moments from the past year, and the others try to guess who wrote each one.” I think the sillier the memory, the more enjoyable this game will be!
