What do you believe contributed to your business being recognized as the Best of Summit?

As a professional photographer in Summit County for close to 20 years, I have put considerable effort into establishing meaningful connections within the community. I have cultivated a reputation for delivering excellent photography and maintaining high standards of service.

What distinguishes your business from others?

I acknowledge that there are numerous skilled photographers in this area. However, I believe that what truly differentiates Timothy Faust Photography is our decades of experience and a thorough understanding of the diverse needs of our clientele.

What motivated you to pursue this profession, and what achievements are you most proud of?

This profession largely found me. I began photography back in the 1990s, driven by a passion for the art combined with my love for outdoor exploration and travel. Initially, selling my photography was merely a way to fund film, batteries, and print costs. Gradually, this hobby evolved into a full-time career. By the early 2000s, I made the decision to resign from my position as a schoolteacher to fully dedicate myself to the photography venture.

In what ways does your business contribute to the community?

Timothy Faust Photography proudly participates in 1% for the Planet. As a member, I contribute 1% of our total revenue to local environmental nonprofit organizations. Additionally, we have offered time and photography services pro bono and have sponsored groups like the NRO.

How has your business navigated recent economic, supply chain, or staffing obstacles?

A significant pivot was necessary in 2021 when the pandemic significantly impacted the wedding and hospitality sectors. Before this, my work primarily revolved around wedding photography along with hotel and restaurant projects. As these services dwindled, I redirected my focus to residential real estate photography, leveraging my extensive expertise in commercial property photography. Currently, I find myself busy capturing images and producing videos for 50 homes each month. The greatest advantage of this shift is the opportunity to spend more time in Summit County and less on travel.
