January’s PlayStation Plus Games: A Quirky Mix That Sparks Curiosity!

To be honest, though, I’m leaning more toward “enthusiasm” here rather than “disappointment.” So, Sony/PlayStation unveiled the PlayStation Plus monthly rewards for January to start the new year! And I’m absolutely quite thrilled about one of them and… somewhat indifferent regarding the other two? Let’s explore it further.

The first title on the PlayStation Plus agenda is… Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. A legacy that most people are probably familiar with without me needing to explicitly weigh in. Nonetheless, I’m eager to download it at no cost and use it as a fun experiment with friends! I’ll mention this: if there’s any time I’m most inclined to give the game a shot, it’s now. The plot won’t be unfamiliar since I’ve seen all of the cutscenes, but, hey. PlayStation Plus’ monthly games are, once again, complimentary. So, no complaints, Sony!

Next up, we have: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered! Which is thrilling if you’re a fan of the franchise. It’s one of the titles in the series that has garnered high praises, so that’s noteworthy. Can you tell I usually don’t engage with the Need for Speed series? I’ve mentioned it before — I prefer whimsical, quirky racing games. Hot Wheels Unleashed? Absolutely! Need for Speed? Not so much. I did invest many hours into Need for Speed: Underground back in the day, though! At least it offers a nice variety for PlayStation Plus!

Ultimately, to significantly raise the stakes, we have The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. I’m a fan of narratives. I adore eccentric, story-focused games. I’ve been yearning to try The Stanley Parable for so long. And now? PlayStation Plus has delivered exactly that! Somehow, I’ve made it through this long without any spoilers surrounding the title. Thus, I’m prepared for a fresh, blissfully oblivious beginning to one of the most bizarre narrative experiences in the gaming landscape!
