ATHENS, Ga. – As the new year begins, the Tennessee diving team will participate in the Georgia Diving Invitational from January 3-5.

The Vols and Lady Vols will compete alongside Iowa State, Kentucky, La Salle, LSU, North Carolina, NC State, and SMU, in addition to the host Bulldogs, in this three-day event. Each day’s session is set to commence at 11:30 a.m., featuring both men’s and women’s events held simultaneously. Finals will start 15 minutes after the prelim sessions conclude. The competition will be available for streaming on SEC Network+.

The week’s events will commence with the women’s 3-meter and the men’s 1-meter diving on Friday. On Saturday, the women will showcase their skills on the platform while the men will contest on the 3-meter. The competition will conclude on Sunday, featuring the women’s 1-meter and the men’s platform.

Tennessee is coming off a strong performance at the Auburn Diving Invite held in December. Freshman Bennett Greene triumphed in the 1-meter event with a personal record score of 384.40, positioning him ninth in UT’s all-time rankings. He also secured second place on the 3-meter, leading the Vols on springboard diving.

Juniors Owen Redfearn and Nick Stone both achieved top-five finishes during the competition, with Redfearn earning third on the 3-meter and fourth on the platform. Stone, on the other hand, was third on the platform and fourth on the 1-meter. Senior Maddie Reese achieved a third-place finish on the platform, marking the highest placement for a Lady Vol during the event and ensuring her entry in the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships.
