EXETER — The New Hampshire Center for Photography (previously known as the NH Society of Photographic Artists) is set to host its 25th annual exhibition and sale from Jan. 4-26 at the Exeter Town Hall Gallery, situated at 10 Front St. The exhibition will be accessible on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m.

A number of participating photographers will be present to respond to inquiries regarding their art during the opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 4, from 12 to 4 p.m.

The exhibition showcases 52 fine art photographers featuring over 100 original pieces, blending traditional and contemporary photographic techniques. The collection includes black and white gelatin silver prints, standard color prints, handmade contact prints inspired by history, and cutting-edge digital images printed on archival-grade paper. This year’s highlighted image is an archival pigment print by Frank Conahan entitled “Gloucester Dory.”

“Every year, we extend an invitation to our 150 plus members to participate in the exhibition. These photographers, situated throughout New Hampshire, represent the ‘finest of the finest,’ and annually they showcase their work here in Exeter,” conveyed NH Center for Photography President Ian Raymond. “In discussions with the photographers, you will discover that there is invariably a captivating narrative behind each image, often accompanied by various methods and materials employed in the creation of the photograph.”

The organization’s renaming from “The NH Society of Photographic Artists” to the “NH Center for Photography” occurred earlier this year to expand its reach and more closely align with its mission of education and outreach, thereby providing a broader array of programs. The group emphasizes the educational and artistic progress of its members and the community through exhibitions, publications, and educational initiatives.

For additional details, visit the NH Center for Photography’s Facebook page or their website at www.nhcp.org. The Exeter Town Hall Gallery is accessible for individuals with disabilities via an elevator located inside the side door, adjacent to the parking area. Admission is complimentary.
