Saquon Barkley Playfully Roasts Giants Owner Mara in Hilarious Unisom Campaign!

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley stars in a fresh initiative from sleep aid brand Unisom that playfully pokes fun at “sleepless” supporters of his former organization, the Giants.

Giants owner John Mara was famously caught in a viral video from HBO’s “Hard Knocks” this summer, expressing that he would “find it difficult to sleep” if Barkley, who was a free agent at the time, signed with their NFC East adversary. With the Eagles set to face the Giants in the regular-season finale on Sunday, Barkley is participating in a social media initiative from Unisom aimed at the supporters of his previous team. This campaign, crafted by The Martin Agency and Lippe Taylor, features several posts from Barkley’s social media profiles, where he serenades Giants fans with a lullaby while endorsing Unisom’s product.

Unisom CMO Claudine Patel and her team recognized an opportunity for an inventive marketing effort when the Mara clip became a sensation. Patel mentioned that once Unisom’s marketing department viewed the clip, they “definitely seized the opportunity.” The company contacted Barkley’s agents to propose the idea, and Barkley was “quite enthusiastic about the concept.”

Although Sanofi, Unisom’s parent company, has executed campaigns with athletes previously — including Shaquille O’Neal’s promotion for IcyHot — Patel indicated that this is the inaugural instance where Unisom has collaborated with an athlete in this manner. Unisom aims to leverage Barkley’s extensive following, which boasts 2.8 million supporters on Instagram and 559,900 on X.

“We capitalized on a moment that became viral and has a significant connection to our brand,” Patel remarked. “It offers a wonderfully tongue-in-cheek and enjoyable method of utilizing social media and tapping into his fanbase.”

Barkley is just 101 yards shy of achieving a new NFL single-season rushing record; however, he is anticipated not to participate in Sunday’s regular-season conclusion.
