As the new year commences, numerous individuals contemplate being more deliberate about how they utilize their time. This may involve dedicating more focus to a current hobby or even incorporating a new one. Let’s examine the time devoted to some favored pastimes.

For individuals aged 15 and above, those who viewed television did so for an average of 3.62 hours on the days they watched in 2023, in contrast to 3.65 hours in 2022.

Another significant pastime was attending sporting or recreational events. Attendees averaged 3.16 hours on days they participated in these events in 2023, compared to 3.17 hours in the previous year.

In 2023, arts and entertainment (excluding sports) garnered an average of 2.65 hours per day from its participants, which is a decrease from 3.08 hours in 2022. On days when individuals volunteered, they committed 2.11 hours to the activity in 2023 and 2.33 hours in 2022.

Reading for personal enjoyment totaled an average of 1.61 hours on days people engaged in reading in 2023. Walkers moved for an average of 0.85 hours on the days they walked.
