PHILADELPHIA – The gymnastics squad from the University of Pennsylvania kicks off its 2025 season with a visit to Happy Valley, competing against No. 21 Penn State and New Hampshire this Sunday in a tri-meet.
Having secured three successive Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) championships, the Quakers are coming off a “treble” achievement for the first time in the program’s history, clinching victories in the Ivy Classic, GEC regular season title, and GEC championship title last year.

Quaker Highlights
*Penn welcomes back five All-GEC first-team selections (Jordan Barrow, Emma Davies, Skyelar Kerico, Sophia Paris, and Samantha Wu) along with three second-team awardees (Zara Gazdak, Marissa Lassiter, and Isabel Song) from its championship-winning season.
*Kerico embarks on her junior year as the reigning GEC Gymnast of the Year. The Toms River, N.J. native broke multiple Penn records, recording the top three all-around scores in the program’s history. At the GEC Championships, she triumphed in both the balance beam and the all-around, marking her as the first Penn gymnast to secure two individual titles since head coach Kirsten Becker achieved this herself at the 2012 ECAC Championships.
*Freshmen Mimi Fletcher, Manama Fofana, Skylar Goodstadt, Luci Toczydlowski, Sienna Zuccaro, as well as sophomore Makenna Damhorst are all geared up to commence their Penn journeys on Sunday.
*Becker returns for her fourth season steering the team. Last year, she made history as the first head coach in the program’s existence to capture three conference championships. She is accompanied by assistant coach Casey Zacot.
*The Quakers faced the Nittany Lions during last year’s Keystone Classic at The Palestra. Penn State emerged victorious with a team score of 194.725, while Penn secured third place with a score of 192.575.
*During the 2023 season, Penn and New Hampshire squared off three times. They exchanged wins before the Wildcats (195.600) narrowly surpassed the Quakers (195.100) at the Maryland Quad Meet.
