NORMAN, Okla. — The No. 5 Texas women’s basketball squad triumphed in their inaugural Southeastern conference match in program history, achieving an 80-73 victory against Oklahoma on Thursday. 

Jordan Lee came off the bench to guide Texas with 17 points, connecting on 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Rori Harmon contributed 16 points and provided eight assists. Taylor Jones netted eight of her 14 points during the final quarter, while Kyla Oldacre added 12 points for Texas. 

Oklahoma executed a pair of 6-0 scoring runs in the opening quarter, pulling ahead 32-20 with 8:38 remaining in the second quarter. 

Jordan Lee ignited the Longhorns in the second frame, hitting 3-of-4 attempts from 3-point range to shift the momentum. Her third 3-pointer initiated a 7-0 run for Texas, who regained the lead at 40-39 by halftime. 

Kyla Oldacre established her presence with six points in the second quarter for Texas. 

With the score locked at 54-54 in the third quarter, Lee stole the ball, raced down the court to score, and was fouled. Lee converted the three-point play, putting Texas ahead 57-54. Later on, Lee sank her fourth 3-pointer of the contest with 17 seconds remaining in the third quarter, pushing the Longhorns to a 60-58 lead. 

Texas scored the initial six points of the final quarter, extending their lead to 66-60, but Oklahoma fought back, scoring two baskets to reduce the deficit to two at 66-64. 

Taylor Jones came through in the clutch with eight points in the fourth quarter for the Longhorns. 

Next, Texas will continue their SEC schedule, hosting Arkansas on Sunday, Jan. 5, with a tip-off at 2:00 p.m. CT on SECN+.
