“Futurespective: A Call to Ukrainian Photographers from PhotoVogue and Vogue Ukraine”

Vogue Ukraine has consistently backed and highlighted emerging national talents. In its continuous pursuit to unveil new artists and honor Ukrainian creatives on the global fashion stage, Vogue Ukraine is initiating a new program: the PhotoVogue Ukraine Futurespective Open Call. This endeavor will be integrated into the worldwide PhotoVogue initiative, which seeks to link gifted photographers with global prospects. Ukrainian creators aged 18 and above, specializing in fashion and artistic photography, are encouraged to take part in the contest. Participants can access contest information, the submission form, details about the international jury for this year, and updates on the project via a designated platform: FUTURESPECTIVE 2025.

Submissions for the PhotoVogue Ukraine Futurespective Open Call will commence on January 1 and will remain open for three months. From the portfolios received, the Vogue Ukraine team will select 12 of the most promising and captivating submissions. The shortlisted entries will then be forwarded to the jury, which comprises international and Ukrainian artists, curators, and photographers.

“Since the establishment of Vogue in Ukraine, our publication has endeavored to nurture and promote local talents,” states Venya Brykalin, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Ukraine. “For over 11 years, Ukrainian photographers have been featured in our print and digital platforms, and we have been involved in international Vogue initiatives. Continuously embracing this legacy, we aim to leverage our expertise and influence to forge new avenues for Ukrainian photographic artists. These initiatives also function as a means to encapsulate a generation’s distinct perspectives, attitudes, and sensitivities, presenting them to key industry figures and the world at large.”

With the endorsement of Condé Nast, as part of the PhotoVogue Ukraine Futurespective, works selected by the finalists will be showcased at Vogue Ukraine‘s exhibitions in Kyiv in May and in London in September. The chosen artist will be given the chance to develop a unique photography project to be featured in the print edition of Vogue Ukraine in 2025.
